My name is Makali’i Omori, and I gre up on O’ahu, Hawai’i. I started detailing in 2020 with a friend of mine who began to share with me his process of detailing. After working with him, for some time, I began to do some research on my own about some of the processes and chemicals that we were acustomed to, and realized that there was a safer, and more efficent way to detail. As I began to research and reached out to the companies I had learned from, I started to piece together a way to detail that wasn’t only safer but offered me really beautiful results that I was proud to offer to customers. Being able to refine my work in this way fulfilled a need for me to connect my growth mindset with a way to make a living for myself in a way that I enjoy.

While learning, I realized that par of what I love about detailing is being able to give my customers a feeling of joy, and pride in their vehicle. It has become really enjoyable to take someones vehicle, that has seen some time of neglect, and transforming it into a state that is as close to, or better than new.

Finding joy in this process of transformation has led me to develop my process of installing ceramic coating and mechanical paint polishing. The method of polishing that I’ve developed safely rounds out scratches, imperfections, and water spots leaving the exterior of the vehicle with a pop in clarity and gloss. This pop in gloss is then reinforced with a depth in color by installing a ceramic coating, which with regular washing, will keep the vehicle looking pristine for years to come.
